伦敦时间周几?
LONDON TIME = GREENWICH MEAN TIME + 8 hours. Greenwich mean time is defined as the mean solar time at the Royal Observatory,Greenwich, which is located in East London. Greenwich refers to the place and not the observatory itself,of which there have been several over the years. The modern building with a telescope on top is called the National Maritime Museum. Time was originally kept using sundials but these were later replaced by mechanical clocks. There are still traces of them in the building today. The first clock face you see when you enter the museum has the time on it along with the date, month and phase of moon. In addition to this there are three dials showing local times for Sydney,New York and Los Angeles respectively. Each dial is split into four parts representing morning, afternoon, evening and night. This is known as a quadrant dial. One side represents the time in each location with respect to GMT (in this case LONDON TIME) while the other shows sunset and sunrise times. In order to calculate your own local time you need to know two things;the time at Greenwich and the difference between there and where you are. For example,if I want to find out what time it is at home in Auckland, New Zealand,I would start by finding the difference in time zone between here and Greenwich. A quick internet search tells me that we are 13 hours ahead of Greenwich so our local time would be calculated as follows; LOCAL TIME = GMT+13. You can now look up the time at any place you like on this website (http://worldtimebuddy.com/) and if you put this value in to an online calculator such as this one (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/)then you will get back the exact same answer. As well as telling us what the time is anywhere in the world, this scheme also tells us what day of the week it is wherever you are-another useful piece of information!
The table below gives the relationship between dates, times and days of the week for various locations around the world. Note that Sunday is always considered to
